PERSONAL NOTES

Mrs. West-Newman and her small son arrived by the Wanganella yesterday from Thursday Island to visit her mother, Mrs. A. Farrington.

Mrs. E. W. Ormond arrived at Wellington yesterday by the Wanganella after spending two months' hoilday in Tasmania and Sydney. She will stay in Wellington for the races before going to her home in Hastings.

Mrs. Dudley Kettle and Miss Pauline Kettle (Napier) are the guests of Mrs. Vivian Riddiford, "Woburn," Lower Hutt.

Mr. and Mrs. R. Campbell Macniven, Haumoana, Hawke's Bay, are visitors to Wellington for race week.

Mr. and Mrs. David Katzr returned to Wellington yesterday mornign by the Wanganella from Sydney and are staying at the Windsor Hotel before leaving tomorrow for a tour of the South Island. . . . .

Miss Mary Enright, who has been visiting Wellington, left Igst night on her return to Christchurch.

Mrs. J. M. Chambers, Havelock North, is a visitor to Wellington for the race meeting and is staying at the Hotel St. George.

Mrs. C. E. Carter and Miss Carter, Oriental Bay, are visiting Christchurch, where they are the guests of Mrs. W. G. Scott, Cashmere.

Mr. and Mrs. K. L. Collinson, Palmerston North, have retunred from a holiday visit to Australia where some time was spent in Sydney and Brisbane.

Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Belcher, Christchurch, with their daughter, Mrs. W. L. Partridge, Fendalton, will arrive in Wellington tomorrow to join the Wanganella for a visit to Australia.

Miss Jean Mclntosh, Rotherham, has arrived in Wellington, where she will attend the Hampton—McKay wedding during the weekend.

Mrs. Wilfred White and , Miss Mary White, Timaru, returned to New Zealand from Tanganyika yesterday morning, having embarked by the Wanganella from Sydney.

Miss Daisy Sharpe, who has been staying at "Galashiels," Timaru, has left to take up her residence in Wellington.

Mrs! D. C. Bates, Brooklyn, who has been visiting her sister in Australia during-the past two months, returned to Wellington from Sydney by the Wanganella yesterday.
