P. AND 0. STOCK TRUST
Peninsular and Oriental Colonial Stock Trust, Ltd., has informed the Melbourne Stock Exchange that, as it appeared from recent happenings and inquiries that some confusion existed in the minds of brokers, it was desired to point out that persons resident in Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Islands can become members of the trust. Persons resident outside above areas cannot become members of the trust.
The trust holds in trust deferred stock of the P. and O. Steam Navigation Co. for those persons who desire to transfer it to them. The trust gives off certificates that it holds such deferred stock. The certificates are freely transferable within the area defined above, the registers are kept in New Zealand, and transfers are subject to New Zealand stamp duty. A member of the trust canont surrender his certificate for the purpose of being repossessed of the relative stock in the company, except in the* following circumstances: —(1) He removes his residence outside the defined area; (2) he sells to a resident outside the defined area.
