LONDON, July 3. The Paris correspondent pf the "Daily Telegraph" says it is under" stood that France is suggesting that Britain and France should guarantee Luxemburg.' ' - The Grand Duchy of Luxemburg is bounded by Germany, Belgium, and France, it formed part of the Germanic Confederation frOm 1816 to 186G, and was included in tho Gorman 'sZoUverein." In 1067 the Treaty of London declared it neutral territory under the sovereignty on the King of the Netherlands, on whose decease in November, 189Q, it passed to the i)uke of Nassau. The territory was invaded and overrun by ti\e Germans at the commencement of the war in 1914, but was liberated in 1918. By the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 the country was declared to be free from all ties with Germany, The area is 999 square miles;, and the population (1935) 296,913. ■'-..'
