Approximately 700 entries were received for the annual Scripture examination of the Wellington Sunday School Union, which was held on Saturday last. Scholars. from city and, suburban schools were drafted into twelve examination places in. the city and. suburbs, at which centres the supervision was arranged for under the, direct control of the union. In the country areas supervision was arranged . for locally. During the afternoon the president of the union (Mr. W. P. Stock) paid flying visits to a majority of the examination places and found conditions generally very satisfactory and the candidates hard at work. It has been diecided that for this year's distribution of the' prizes and certificates the system of sectional rallies, will be reverted to. Rallies Will be held in at least six different "suburbs during Sep* tember.
