NAVY LEAGUE AUXILIARY
The entire executive committee was re-elected at the meeting yesterday morning of the ladies' auxiliary of the Navy League, which was held in the league rooms, Lambton Quay. Mrs. L. O. H. Tripp, president, was in the, chair. The annual report, which was read by Miss Cable, showed a year.of much activity as. a result of which the banking account had remained in, a very healthy condition. Members had attended the welcoming reception to Commodore and Mrs. Horan and their daughter, which had been given. by the Navy League in the Hotel St. George, and had also been guests at the reception to Earl and Countess Beatty. The auxiliary felt that by his visit and lectures Lord Beatty had given a very decided fillip to the Navy League movement in the city. The Mission to Seamen teas had been maintained throughout the year, and ex-naval men' had been entertained at a Christmas party. Mrs. R. D. Oliver, a former ex-officio committee *member, who' has since left the country, gave a donation towards the running of the party, Mr. McKenzie making a present of the Christmas ■tree. The committee had also visited Marsden School and Wellesley College and helped with the distribution of souvenir photographs. The secretary announced that a sum of £22 15s 8d remained in the Savings Bank the auxiliary's credit. , ■ " The auxiliary expressed its appreciation of the work of Mrs. F. H. What-
ley as president of the girls branch. The executive, Missions to Seamen Society, Mi. Arcus (hon. auditor), and the Press were also thanked.
