THE "JITTER" JACKET
The "jitter" jacket is a bright addition to wardrobes which has newly arrived from tbe United States, writes an English correspondent. It is a plain white linen or cotton jacket covered with vari-coloured motifs. The idea is actually an extension of the e*mbroidered jackets and coats of last season, but a quicker way has been found tb achieve a similar effect. The motifs'* are made of felt and can be bought ready cut out in a great number of shapes which include hearts, anchors, screaming cats, and an elephant riding a scooter. The application of the felt shapes is simplified by the fact that the under surface is coated with an adhesive substance -so that by ironing the motifs become fixed and are even washable.
