MOUNT ISA DEBENTURES.
An issue of debentures of £500,000 in sterling has been approved at a meeting of shareholders of Mount Isa Mines, Ltd.,,in Brisbane. The debentures are ior five years, and carry 5 per cent, interest, being issued' at £99 in London. They are guaranteed as to principal and interest by the Queensland Government. The issue will replace the present third debentures of £500,----000 sterling, 4J per cent., which mature on- June 30. The issue was underwritten.
The previous month's rates were exceeded by _d per lb at the last monthly sale of sheepskins conducted at Timaru by the South Canterbury Woolbrpkers' Association, when a total clearance of 9000 skins was effected. Crossbreds were again in good demand.
