Wellington Season Next Week.
Another ail-American- vai'iety show to be brought to Wellington is Sir Benjamin Fuller's "Funz-A-Poppin," headed by Salici's iamous Parisian puppets, an amazing company of marionettes, complete with dancers, singers, pianists, jazz band. Salici's Puppets are a tradition in Europe, England, and America, and' every where they appear they are hailed as a revelation in synchronisation of movement. Marionettes who sing, dance, play the piano, smoke, burlesque, and imitate human beings with life-like precision, comprise a revue show of their own, and their performance' will be acknowledged,.™^ the same enthusiasm as that accorded their appearance in every part of the world, l'heir half-hour act is packed with interest, humour, and surprise, and they constitute one of the most remarkable entertainments that New Zealand has ever seen. In associa-' tion with the puppets are twelve celebrated American acts, in which New York talem is given full opportunity m a setting that will be as spectacular as any previous Fuller offering. Producing the show is Alex Gerber, a I noted American producer, who is also a famous song-writer, and under his expert direction appear such favourites as the Carr Brothers and Betty, with a reputation for acrobatic work that has included London, Paris, Berlin, New York (they speak several languages and present a remarkable turn): lommy "Bozo" Snyder, famous Broadway pantomimic comedian, known as the man who never speaks," but whose act is oi conyulsing effect; the attractive Van Twins, who sing and dance Land perplex with their amazing similarity, and whose special feature is a Chain Dance; Loretta Grey, the "comic singer of songs," ,who is also known as "little Miss Dynamite"; Jack Bickle, rubber-legged acrobatic dancer, who hails from Canada; Elsa Lang, described as "a pint-pot prima donna," who puts on a fine scena with Murray Greene, a sterling singer; Harry Ross and Eddie Edwards, top-notch American comedians, famous over the air in the States; Dorothy Holbrook, Heading dancer of the Twelve Dancing Debutantes, noted dance team from the New York Radio City Music Hall; and I Bobby Morris, the diminutive comedian ! who -was here recently with the "Hollywood Hotel" Revue Company. Joseph orchestra will provide. the musical background to the show, which commences a season in Wellington on July 8.
