Matters connected with the water and sewerage schemes for the eastern bays were discussed at yesterday's meeting of the Hutt County Council. Councillor j. B. Yaldwyn said that they had had some difficulty in raising the loan, but had managed to do so.

A public notice is to be given of the council's proposal to lay water and sewerage mains on private property at Point Howard, Lowry Bay, .and York Bay, and notices are to be given to all persons concerned as required by the Municipal Corporations Act. A special meeting of the council will be held on July 7 to consider the question of acceptance of tenders for the supply of water and sewerage pipes and fittings for York and Lowry Bays, the consideration of the draft agreement with the Harbour Board in respect to septic tank discharges for the eastern bays, and any other urgent matters.
