MAGISTRATE'S COURT

A remand to appear at Auckland on June 19 was granted by Mr. J. L. Stout. S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today in the case of Norman Rupert Cottle, aged 24, a painter, who is charged with stealing a wristlet watch at Auckland Henry Haddock, aged 25. a fireman, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within three months for deserting from the Port Sydney. _laddock said that he was going to rejoin his ship when he was arrested, and that he would rejoin it now.

A fine of 10s, in default 48 hours' imprisonment, was imposed upon Patrick Joseph Hamilton, aged 53, a storeman, for a second statutory offence of drunkenness.
