MARKETING BOBBY CALVES
In support of his contention that the method of marketing bobby calves encouraged by the Marketing Department had resulted in better prices and general savings Dr. W. B. Sutch, of the staff of the Minister of Finance, in the course of a public address at Victoria College last night, quoted the following figures, the comparative figures for marketing outside the Department's scheme being shown in parentheses: —Average price realised, 7s 2d per head (6s sd); transport costs. 11.9 d per head (Is 3d); calves condemned. 2 per cent. (5 per cent.). "That shows that something has been done, something has been achieved," said the speaker.
