JAPANESE IMPORTS
MOROCCO IMPOSES BAN
(Received June 13, 12.10 p.m.) CASA BLANCA, June 12. A decree has Been promulgated against Japanese imports similar to the restrictions imposed by France last month. x
A Paris cablegram published on May 4 stated: A decree bans all Japanese imports except silk and camphor. The French consular agents in Japan are empowered in certain circumstances to grant export licences for certain classes of goods embraced in the general prohibition. It is explained that the decree is purely economic, the motive being to reduce the unfavourable trade balance.
