Last weekend Wellington entertained Wairarapa, Uie occasion being the flrst match of the season for the Ffrost-Johnsen Cup. The Selector has chosen the team to represent Wellington in the annual representative ladies' postal match against Christchurch. As only one club furnished scores In response to last week's request, the task of selection was an unenviable one, the only Information available being last year's inter-club average and the two inter-club scores of this season. The team to represent the City of Wellington in the annual postal representative match, which is open to teams representing any city in the British Empire, has. been chosen. Considerable • care was taken to select the best talent available and, judging from last Saturday's match, there is every prospect of the team excelling the Wellington record score of last year. It is desired that as many as possible should complete their shoot in the evening. The match is to be completed next Saturday, and any rifleman not on the range by 9 p.m. will run a risk of being superseded by one of the emergencies. PUBLIC SERVICE CLUB. Members of the Public Service Club fired their usual competition shoots last Thursday. The best scores in A grade were those of A. V G. Wilson 67, J. L. Gaelic, and D. McGinnity 66 each, and in the C grade section, I. T. Bingham 63, P. Kendon 62, and Mrs. A. V. G Wilson 61. The winners of the Caughley Feathers were A. V. G. Wilson and I. T. Bingham. .',„.. The club, which has withdrawn its B team, entertained the Harbour Board B team in a friendly shoot, in which Harbour Board were victorious. The A grade team to meet Aotea on the association range next Wednesday consists of J. L. Gaelic, D. A. Rosie, L. B. Sitchbury, T. J. McMillan, 3. Reid, I. T. Bingham, and A. V. G. Wilson, and the C team, which meets the Brooklyn team next Thursday, comprises Mrs. A. V. G. Wilson, N. Wilson, A. H. Dickinson, C. Henshaw, P. Kendon, Miss McKinnon, and L. W. Baxter. C. Lye is emergency. The Winchester Cup team, which will fire its match on the range next Thursday, comprises D. A. Rosie, L; B. Stichbury, D. McGinnity, J. L. Gaelic, and A. V. G. Wilson. RIVERBANK CLUB. The Riverbank Club's flrst monthly competition for the 'Hon. W. Nash's trophy was won by Sundholme, B grade, and Miss Daff, C grade. The runners-up for Mr. Krause's trophies were Miss Bryan, B grade, and Anderson, C grade. Sundholme, B grade, and Miss Daft, C grade, received the O.M. Ching Memorial Badges for the most bulls during May. The Marshall Buttons for the highest scores each week were held in the B grade by Hagan, Hoare, Sundholme, Miss Bryan, and Mrs. Fullford, whilst Miss Daff held the C grade button three times, and Hoare, sen., and Hoare, jun., once each. A very enjoyable friendly evening was re-, cently held at the P.W.M.C. Ladies' Club, when I an inter-club match was also fired. Mrs. Johnson and Miss Bryan tied for the highest scores, and Mrs. Goss received a consolation prize. • ! AOTEA CLUB. The Aotea Club's weekly shoot on Wednes- j day night produced a crop of high scores, no' fewer than four possibles being registered. Congratulations to R. H. Hunt, R. Dawson, C. Tombs, and P. Stewart on the feat. Excellent 69's were shot by J. Hunter and J. Cowman, while a very pleasing surprise was a 68 by T. Francis, one of the club's young first-year shots. The second monthly competition series in the A grade was won by B. H. Hunt, and In the B grade by J. Hunter. A shoot-off In both grades is required to decide second placings. The Copper Jug competition for May 31 waa won by L. Spicer, of B. H. Hunt's team,]

and for June 7 by C. Sinclair, of J. Cowman's team. P.W.M.C. LADIES' CLUB. The flrst monthly competition of the P.W.M.C. Ladies' Club saw very keen shooting, particularly amongst the uew members, who are tiring very well. The A grade section was won by Mrs. Hewson, with Mrs. Taylor second. The B grade was won by Mrs. N. Cosgrave. Miss J. Cunlitfe second. The Cunlifte Button for the A grade (highest, aggregate for the month) was won by Mrs. Taylor, and the Taylor Button for the B grade was won by Mrs. D. Cosgrave. BROOKLYN CLUB. A pleasing feature of the Brooklyn shooting during the last fortnight has been the general increase in scores by members of all three ■grades, making the competitions very interestlg, with the more experienced shots keen to hold their places from rapidly-improving and advancing new, members. Mention must again be made of R. Mead, C. Elliott, M. Guy, B. Guy. and Miss Milligan, all flrst-year members who have been showing excellent form, with first-rate scores. The chief scorers in the A grade were B. Keys, 70, 69; K. Harrison, 99. 70, 69 ;G. Jensen, 99. 69. In the B grade R. Russell, 100, 70, 70, 70, 69; A. Ramsay, 69. 70; J. McKenzie. 69; L. Jamieson, 69,: 68; B. Home, 68; S. Crawford, 68. The best in the C grade were R. Mead, 68, 67; C. Elliott. 65; M. Guy, 66, 64; and B. Guy, 65, 63. It will be'noticed that Russell, the clubs hard-working secretary, has been shooting with wonderful accuracy, and his gun scores over the last four or five weeks would be hard to eaual. • "EVENING POST" CLUB. There was an exceptionally large attendance of members last night, and several good scores were recorded. R. Jenkins 69. I. Kendrick 69 W. Wiren 68, C. Kenney 67, and T. Dear 67. were among the best. R. Jenkins has been shooting exceptionally well this year, and Wiren, a first-year shot, has some good scores to his credit. . .. .
