BOXING IN DUNEDIN
JENKIN BEATS ALLEN
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
DUNEDIN, June 12
Showing probably the best form since he entered the professional ranks, Stan Jenkin (Dunedin), 10.123, scored a fairly easy points victory over George Allen (Auckland), 11.4J, in a 12-round middleweight professional boxing contest tonight. Allen fought solidly for the first few rounds, concentrating mainly on the body, but Jenkin boxed brilliantly and, using a straight left to good advantage, had his opponent worried before the bout ended.
In the preliminaries F. Brown (Invercargill), 7.3, beat F. Delargey (Dunedin), 7.6, on points; B. Miller (Otago), 10.3, beat O. Stewart (Invercargill), 10.4, on points; A. M. Rutherford (Dunedin), 11.9, beat D. Anderson (Invercargill), 12.5, Anderson being disqualified for a foul ir? the third round when ahead on points; L. Salmon (Dunedin), 8.7, beat B. Buckley (Dunedin), 8.4, on points.
