CONCILIATION COUNCIL

Discussion was begun in conciliation council today of the terms of a proposed award for caretakers, cleaners, and lift attendants in the Wellington, Taranaki, Christchurch,. and lijanedin industrial districts. Garland (New Plymouth), W. H. Mathison (Christchurch), L. Wilson (Dunedin). and R. Burns (Christchurch). Mr. H. J. Bishop was the agent for the employers, whose assessors were Messrs E. R. Norman (Wellington); S. H Burkett (Wellington), J. F. Couchman (Wanganui), W. A. Crowe (Dunedin), H. T. Mellish (Christchurch), G. Burtenshaw (Dunedin), and Q. R. Mabson (Masterton). . + . There was no agreement on the questions of wages arid hours when the council adjourned for lunch.
