Shareholders in Imperial Airways at an extraordinary general meeting anthorised the sale of the assets on the basis of 32s 9d for the ordinary £1 shares^

A London cablegram published on May 13 stated: —The Secretary of Air (Sir Kingsley Wood) announced in the House of Commons that the Government is prepared to take over the assets and liabilities of Imperial Airways on the basis of paying the shareholders 32s 9d for each ordinary £1 share. The total involved was £2,659,000, on which interest would be allowed at 4 per cent, to March 31.
