OLD BOYS' DANCE

MORE LIKE A PRIVATE PARTY

The Wellesley College Old Boys' Association gave a dance on Saturday night, at the National Club. It was a most enjoyable dance, having the friendly intimate atmosphere of a private party.

In the comfortably furnished lounges large baskets of hydrangeas and scarlet oak leaves, chrysanthemums, and bowls of holly looked charming in the soft light shed by tall red and goldshaded lamps; the college crest was in evidence above the entrance to the main lounge, where dancing took place to the music of an orchestra. A savoury supper was served • from trolleys.

The guests were received by the headmaster of the college, Mr. W. H. Stevens, and Mrs. Stevens, who was wearing a marina blue striped moire silk gown with scarlet flowers in the corsage, and scarlet accessories.

Members of the committee were Messrs. John Harcourt, Jim Treadwell, Peter Porteous, M. Christie, C. Foothead, R. Plant, and A. Treadwell., Among those present were Mrs. Gordon Harcourt, Mr. and Mrs. Porteous, Misses Louise Watson, Sonia Findlay, Eila.'Scholefield, Diana Hollis, Betty Hill, Elizabeth Robinson, Elspeth McArthur, Diana Power-Palmer, Lois Woodward, Muriel Hodd, Joan Russell, and Betty Hill; and Messrs. Bruce Nicholls, lan Robertson, Hugo Hollis, Duncan Didsbury, Lawrence Martin, Lex McMurtrie, Noel Meek, Hugh Bradley, Peter and Martin Hymes, Jack Gooder, R. I. Short, and Jim Ashley.
