TAIHAPE, This Day

Pleading guilty to a charge of being intoxicated in charge of a car, Pineki Simon, a Maori, 46, Halcombe, appeared before-Messrs. H. Johnston and E. Loader, J.P.s, in the Taihape Magisrate's Court today. He was sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment in the Wanganui Gaol.

The police stated, that the accused's car had collided-with another car. The defendant had at least four bottles of beer in his car and had-thrown them away after the accident. His licence was cancelled for two years.
