(By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., This Day. The weather is overcast, with occasional drizzling rain, and the track is easier for the second day of the Manawatu Racing Club's Meeting. There is a good attendance. Results: —
Akitio Hack Steeplechase, £150; about 2£ miles. —1 Glenvane, 10.2 (Savage), 1; 6 Lady Callaghan, 9.1 (Rohloff), 2; 3 Red Rufus, 10.1 (P. Jarvis), 3. All started. Four lengths; fifteen lengths. Time, 4min 35sec. Strolling fell and Redolent lost his rider.
Rangiotu Trial Handicap, £125; 7 furlongs.—4 Colonel Bogey, 7.13 (Broughton), 1; 3 Regicide, 8.12 (Chaplin), 2; 11 Laughing Song, 7.13 (Marsh), 3. Scr.: Arabic. Two lengths; two lengths. Time, lmin 30 4-ssec.
Awapuni . Steeplechase Handicap, £350; about 2£ miles.—2 Lord Hereford, 9.4 (A. Jenkins), 1; 3 Master Hector, 9.6 (Rohloff), 2; 1 Hanover, 9.7 .(W. Pine), 3. , Scr.: Lady Stella. Two lengths. Time, 4min 13see. Hanover fell, but was remounted, to complete the course.
