HUTT COUNTY LOANS

INTEREST RATES TO BE

VARIED

Consequent on the rise in interest rates, the Hutt County Council, at its meeting yesterday afternoon, agreed to resolutions varying the interest rates on several loans.

The County Clerk reported that the York Bay Water and Sewerage Loan of £2700 and the York Bay Private Sewerage Connections Loan of £ 1000 had both been carried by the signing of consents by ratepayers. It was resolved that the council make application to the Treasury to vary the rate of interest from 3£ per cent, to -4$ per cent, in respect of the following loans:—York Bay Water and Sewerage Loan, £2700; York Bay Private Sewerage Connections Loan,. £1000; Point Howard Water and Sewerage Loan, £4500; Point Howard Private Sewerage Connections Loan, £2000;. Lowry Bay Water and Sewerage Loam, £5000; the unraised portion of the Raumati-Es-planade;Loan of £5000, namely £2000, and that the Day's Bay Water and Sewerage Loan, £11,500, and the Day's Bay Private Sewerage Connections Loan, £5000, be raised at 4-i per cent, in lieu of:3J per cent.
