EGYPT'S ATTITUDE
POLICY DISAPPROVED
NOT RECOMMENDED TO THE ARABS
(Received May 19, 10 a.m.)
CAIRO, May 18.
The Government has notified Britain that it is unable to recommend the Arabs to accept the Palestine White Paper. Egypt thus joins Saudi Arabia and Irak in disapproval of the policy. The Higher Arab Committee is meeting at Beirut, the u-rand Mufti presiding, to determine future action.
The Wafdist Press describes the White Paper as evasive and says it contains no advantages for the Arabs and only vague promises of the conditional restoration of order.
The Premier stated that all the Arab countries opposed the plan, and added that' the negotiations with, Britain had ended.
