NAZI PARADE

FREE CITY OF DANZIG

NO EXCITEMENT CAUSED

POLES CONFIDENT

(By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright.)

(Received May 16, 2 p.m.)

LONDON, May 15.

The Warsaw correspondent of "The Times" states that the Nazi parade in Danzig tonight caused no excitement. Indeed, the Nazi organisers unwittingly demonstrated Polish tolerance to the world. . Herr Muller, counsellor at the foreign Ministry in Berlin, attended a sitting of the staff of the Nazi Party which began in Danzig yesterday, lasting into the night, and was resumed this morning.

The Polish Press is unconcerned, and says that everybody knows how Poland would react if anything serious were attempted. It points out that the Polish army could easily reach Danzig before German troops. Trustworthy non-Polish investigators who visited the regions in which Germans are alleged to have been victims of terrorism report that the allegations are without foundation.

A message from Warsaw published yesterday stated that 40,000 young Germans, ostensibly tourists, had entered Danzig during the past ten days. It was expected that they would participate in a parade of Danzig's Brown Shirts and Black Shirts, which the authorities were not seeking to prevent. Subsequently the Danzig correspondent of thr British United Press said that Nazi circles there denied that a monster demonstration would be held. They declared that only 300 Brown Shirts would march two miles through the city. This would end in a routine concert. ',''.'.'
