HUTT DEBATING SOCIETY

The first regular ■meeting of the Hutt Debating Society, held last week, was presided over by the president, Mr. W. Benton. The strength of the society was increased by four new members. A debate on the motion, "That the Import Control Restrictions are Justified," aroused keen discussion. The decision was in favour of the movers of the motion, the judge being Mr. B. A. Waybourne.

E. Johnston and Co., auctioneers, will sell household furnishings at their mart, 8 Willeston Street, tomorrow at 1.15 p.m.
