Friday's closing prices for the following raw materials were as follows, those for May 5 being shown in parentheses:— Cotton.—Liverpool quotation, good American middling, spot, 5.33 d a Jb (4.80 d); June delivery, 4.82 d a lb (4.66 d). Rubber. —Para, 7id a lb (same); plantation smoked ribbed sheet, 7 31-32 d a lb (7 15-16 d). Jute.—May-June shipment, Indian jute, Dundee quotation. £28 a ton "(£29 3s 9d). Copra.—May-June shipment, sundried South Sea, to London or Rotterdam, £10 10s a ton (£lO ss): smoked, to Marseilles or Genoa. £10 5s a ton (£10); plantation, Rabaul to London or Rotterdam. £11 5s a ton (£11). Linseed 0i1.—£27 15s a ton (£27). Turpentine.—34s a cwt (355).
