LABOUR NEWSPAPER
RECEIVER APPOINTED
SYDNEY "DAILY NEWS"
SYDNEY, May 12,
It is announced that a receiver has been appointed for the "Daily News," formerly the "Labor Daily." The directors state that the appointment of the receiver is the outcome of an amicable arrangement with the Bank of New South Wales, which has an overdraft of about £50,000 over the newspaper. Efforts are being made to sell the paper and the plant by tender. Meanwhile it will carry on as the official organ of the industrial Labour Party led by Mr. Heffron.
