CHAMOIS GLOVES
CARE WHEN WASHING
If you wash your chamois gloves and they are hard when dry, boil a kettle of water and hold them in the
steam, pulling them gentry on to your hands as you do so.
When on they will be as soft as they were when they were new, and will look as if they have been perfectly ironed.
Chamois gloves should be washed in soapy water to which "a spoonful of glycerine or olive oil has been idded, and the soap should be left in them, not rinsed out.
Pigskin gloves, on the othei hand, must have every vestige of soap removed after washing if they are to retain their original suppleness.
After having served eight months as a front-line soldier in the Chinese army, Private Tang Kewilin has been refused permission to rejoin her regiment, states an exchange. It was accidentally discovered that the old campaigner is a girl. She joined the army at the age of 16 and took part in the heavy fighting at Lake Poyang, .between Hankow and Nanking, last autumn. She was seriously wounded while manning a light machine-gun.
