OUTCLASSED OPPOSITION
The three-year-old Bronze Moth outclassed his opponents in the second division of the Otaua Handicap at Pukekohe on Saturday, revealing brilliant speed and having the race in safe keeping a long way from home. It was easily his best effort to date, and evidently he relished racing on his home track. He appears to be developing solidhess with racing, and, although inclined to be wayward at the barrier, he should experience little difficulty in winning his way out of the hack ranks. . . ~ A bay colt, Bronze Moth is a halfbrother by Bronze Eagle from Midget to Puss Moth. Gypsy Moth, Fox Moth, and Dragon Moth, and he inherits all the family speed. Midget traces back to that successful brood mare, who has indirectly been responsible for some truly great performers, including Record Reign, Belmont, St. Simon, Lady Winnie, and Winsome, the lastnamed' pair also proving valuable matrons at the stud.
