UGLY HOARDINGS

ANOTHER PROTEST

Another protest has been made against the erection of disfiguring or unsightly advertising hoardings. At a recent meeting of the council of the Town Planning Institute of New Zealand a resolution was passed that the institute endorses the protest made by the Wellington Beautifying Society against the use of disfiguring hoardings in rural and urban areas, and urges that large advertising hoardings should be strictly regulated, and that in those places where advertising hoardings are permitted strict control should be exercised in order to eliminate unsightly advertisements.

It was also resolved that the Wellington Beautifying Society should be approached with a view to calling a conference of interested parties at an early date.
