RED CROSS SOCIETY
Wide public interest is being taken in the disturbed situation which at present faces the world, and thinking people are very much concerned to know how they can be of effective service should emergency arise. Under the auspices of the Wellington branch of the Red Cross Society classes in first aid and air raid precautions will commence at the Red Cross rooms, 61 Dixon Street, tomorrow and on Thursday. The air raid precautions instructions comprise a series of lectures, and demonstrations will be under the supervision of Miss Rui Van Staveren, who holds her certificate in this subject from the authorities in England. By request of members of the Wellington Women's Club a special abbreviated course embracing first aid. home nursing, and A.R.P. will commence at the club's room on Monday May 8 Instruction is also to be given to the Hard of Hearing League, so that it. members may be of service in an emergency.
