NAPIER SALE
THE RISE SUBSTANTIAL

Attributed by one of the leading buyers to conscription measures over-J seas., particularly in Britain, unusually spirited bidding marked the final wool sale of the season tonight in Napier. A substantial rise was shown on the Wellington sale. Many growers were pleasantly surprised to find, a rise'from a halfpenny to a penny on the previous sale., and sellers' limits are believed to have been exceeded substantially. •■. Bradford were the main operators and the Continent to a less degree, though competition was keen. Crossbred comprised the greater portion of the clip. „_____ Approximately 99 per cent, of me catalogue was cleared. Prices showed a general increase of a halfpenny, though in some cases the increase was greater. Growers express the greatest satisfaction with the sale.
