WAIKATO HOSPITAL

INCREASED ESTIMATES

{By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAMILTON, This Day. Estimates for 1939-40, which have oeeh approved by the Waikato Hospital Board, provide for an increase of ;£ 40,580 on the estimates for last year., In presenting the new estimates at a meeting of the board, the chairman, Mr. F. Findlay, said that the chief reason for an increase in the board's requirements was that during the past year the number of occupied beds in the hospital increased from 370 to 384. This fact, together with other increased expenditure, had led to a net deficit of £14,644 on last year's estimates.

A decision to defer increased hospital charges until the Social Security Act came fully into force was made at the meeting.
