DEATH OF CONSUL

MAXIMUM OF 15 YEARS

BAGDAD, April 17.

Sentences varying from eight years to fifteen years' hard labour were imposed on six men at a court martial in connection with the death of the British Consul at Mosul, Mr. G. E. A. C. Monck-Mason, who was killed by a mob after the death of King Ghazi. Two lads who were sentenced to death had their sentences commuted to fifteen years' hard labour on the ground of their youth.
