PUPPET GOVERNMENT

LONDON, April 11,

The correspondent of "The Times" at Shanghai says that Chinese gunmen shot dead a puppet Government official, Dr. His Shih-tai, jun., and wounded two others, including a Chinese constable who fired on the murderers. Two hundred and forty Chinese Officials of the Nanking Government are reported to have been, killed and many taken prisoner by guerrillas, including Magistrates and their staffs in towns which have been recaptured.
