BOY'S DEATH
BURIED UNDER SAND

WANGANUI, April 9
Bruce Jenkins, aged 11, of 155 Harrison Street, Wanganui, was killed this morning when he was buried in a tunnel which he and six other boys were digging in a sandy bank on St. John's Hill. Jenkins ,was inside the tunnel when a heavy fall of sand came from the top of the bank. It took ten men twenty minutes to dig out the body. Artificial respiration was unsuccessful.
