MANCHESTER UNITY ODDFELLOWS
The fortnightly meeting of Loyal Rose of Sharon Lodge, Upper Hutt, was presided over by Bro. R. Goodman, Noble Grand. A donation of £ 1 was made to the Past Grands' Lodge towards ritual competition expenses. Bro. D. Stephens was accepted as a full benefit member. A visit was arranged to Moera Branch Lodge. A proposed visit to Martinborough Lodge was found to be impracticable. The secretary was instructed to write Greytown Lodge regarding a visit from Rose of Sharon Lodge members. Bro. Bird reported on the annual meeting of the Hospital Association, and also on the district conference. A resolution of thanks was passed to him for his services as lodge representative on these two occasions. It was reported that Mangatainoka Lodge were the winners of the P.M. Smith Membership Shield, Rose of Sharon Lodge (the previous holders) being third in the latest contest. Indoor bowls and table tennis were enjoyed at the close of the meeting.
