AN UNEXPECTED DECLINE

WANGANUI, March 30,
Heavy passings for seedy and inferior lambs' wool and a decline on Auckland values of about Id marked the final Wanganui wool sale of the season tonight. Fleece wool showed a decline of id to _d, and a similar recession was shown in prices for bellies and pieces. Good lambs' wool was at late rates. The official report of the combined brokers states that there was an offering of approximately 23,800 bales. All sections of the trade were represented. Good well-skirted wools were from par to id cheaper. Average crossbred showed a decline of id to _d, and in some cases sd, compared with recent sales. This also applies to bellies and pieces. Good lambs were about par, and seedy and inferior, of which there was a big offering, were gd to Id lower. Bradford were the chief buyers, with the Continent operating on suitable lots. Other sections were quiet. The bulk of the offering comprised heavy conditioned and seedy wools, j Contrary to expectations, the sale showed a decided easing, specially for average to inferior wools.
