INSURANCE COVER
A Press Association message from Greymouth states that Mr. J. E. Williams, owner of Victoria House, who has been visiting Greymouth, stated that the insurance on the building was £20,000 with Lloyds, but that there was no cover on the fittings and fixtures, which were valued at between £2000 and £3000. An amount of £800 had recently been spent on renovations to equip part of the building for Dental and Medical Supplies, Ltd. Progress Motors' premises, opposite Victoria House, are insured for £8000, £4000 being with the South British Insurance Company, £2000 with the New Zealand Insurance Company, and £2000 with the Royal Exchange Insurance Company. Damage to this building, however, is slight. The building in Willis Street owned by Hallenstein Bros., is insured with the Alliance Assurance Company, but the amount of the cover is not available.
