ISLAND BAY BRANCH
The Island Bay branch of the Labour Party held its annual meeting on Monday. The officers elected for the ensuing year were:—President, Mr. L. E-. Aldridge;-vic^p'r'esiden^Mr^VJr-S^Mc-Kenzie; secreiary~-treastti:fer, sMT.'-E. B. Newton. ' ;;'/ '" '': ■ : v^- ;V'; •'"^.'■ ; ;- Among other matters discussed' was the appointment of Mr. Gaudin to the Wellington ' Hospital Board.' The following resolution was carried unanimously-:—"That this meeting- of the Island Bay branch of the New Zealand Labour Party views with concern the appointment of Mr. Gaudin to the Hospital Board, and the Wellington City Council's .flagrant disregard for the usual procedure of appointing the unsuccessful candidate with the highest number of votes. We pledge our support to the Labour Representation Committee in its request for the holding of a by-election to fill the vacancy on the Hospital Board caused by the death of Mrs. S. E. O. Snow."
