It is officially announced that 300 "Communist bandits" attacked and looted the headquarters of the Manchukuo forest guards. Four of the guards were killed, six wounded, and j 23 kidnapped. Sixteen of the bandits were killed. The authorities have organised a large punitive expedition. BOMBS ON KIANGLING FIFTY PEOPLE KILLED (Received March 21, 10.30 a.m.) SHANGHAI, March 20. Fifty people were killed and fifty buildings destroyed during a bombing raid pn Kiangling. An American church was hit and three persons of unknown nationality killed. A message from Tientsin says that | the British and American Consulates | have requested their nationals to! evacuate the Japanese-controlled areas.
