KILLING TO RESUME

KAIAPOI FREEZING WORKS (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, March 20. After a hold-up for three days, killing at the Kaiapoi works of the North Canterbury Sheepfarmers' Co-opera-tive Freezing Company will be resumed tomorrow morning. Further discussions on the working of the chain took place today between officials of the Labour Department, the company, and employees, and agreement was reached. So that a settlement could be reached, the company gave way on a point connected with the lay-out of the chain. The agreement involved an adjustment of the chain; this has been carried out, work being delayed till tomorrow. Other departments at the Kaiapoi works were normal today. A report that a Government representative was to visit Kaiapoi from Wellington to intervene and endeavour to settle the dispute was denied today.
