Special forecast for Wellington:—

Light to moderate and variable winds. Some low cloud, and possibly log in the evening and morning hours, but otherwise fine and warm.

The forecast for the Dominion as a whole, issued by the Meteorological Office at noon today, is for light to moderate winds, but variable, with south-east to north-east predominating. The weather for the most part will be fair to fine and mild to warm,, but with morning fog and possibly light drizzle in places.

Fair, and warm weather has continued over most of the country, Yesterday the winds were chiefly light north-easterlies or northerlies, tout over the South Island they freshened witn the approach of a shallow westerly depression. During the night that crossed the southern and districts of the South Island and was followed by light south-easterly winds. By this morning there was low clouS and, in places, drizzle over Southland and Otago, but elsewhere the weather remained fine and warm. The only appreciable xainfalls reported were 0.16 in at Puysegur Point and 0.05 in at Dunedin.

In Auckland the weather has remain, ed fine and warm, with light easterly winds. The maximum temperature yesterday was 74.3 and the .minimum 62.3.

Fine and sunny weather has prevailed in Wellington, with a northerly breeze, fresh in force yesterday but light today. In Christchurch the weather was sunny and warm yesterday, with a light north-easterly breeze. This morning the wind was a light southerly and the sky was cloudy. The maximum temperature yesterday was 71 8 and the minimum 56.9.

In Dunedin there was a moderate north-easterly wind yesterday and the sky clouded over. Some light showers fell in the afternoon. This morning there was a light southerly and the weather was dull and rather misty.
