The Parliamentary Secretary of the Eoard of Trade, Mr. Ronald Cross, replying to Sir Douglas Thomson (Conservative) in the House of Commons, said that the latest information did not support the contention that there would be a reduction of between 50 and 75 per cent, in imports of United Kingdom paints to New Zealand under the new restrictions.
