CONSTABLE KILLED
STRUGGLE IN SYDNEY
HIS OWN PISTOL USED
(Received February 27, 11 a.m.)
SYDNEY, This Day.
After a desperate struggle with one of two suspects at Newtown early yesterday morning Constable Lionel George Guise, aged 22, a single man, was shot in the abdomen and died several hours later in hospital.
It is believed that Guise was shot with his own revolver and also that the suspect was wounded, probably in the hand. A strict watch is being kept at the hospitals.
