The price of gold touched 150s per oz on November 26, 1938. During the European crisis at the end of September, 1938. the price reached 147s (September 28), but throughout October the range was from 144s 5d (October 6) to 146s 10d (October 14); for November it was from 145s Hid (November 8) to 150s (November 26). The range in December was 148s (December 6) to 149s 7d (December 31), and in January it declined from 150s sd, a record (January*4) to 148s 6d (January 31).
