AUSTRALIAN GAS LIGHT.

Australian Gas Light Company, Sydney, reports a net profit of £281,554 for the year 1938, or £15,728 more than in 1937. During the year capital was increased by £210,000, and the premium account by £24,208. This resulted from the sale of 35,000 "A" shares at auction last September. The unchanged dividend of 6 per cent, requires £269,846, leaying £57,080 to be carried forward, against £45,374 brought into the accounts.
