AUCKLAND BLAZE
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Two firemen were hurt and a third narrowly escaped injury in fighting a fire which broke out at the Taupo Timber Co.'s factory at Newmarket early this morning. As a result of the fire-fighters' efforts the blaze was quickly suppressed, and the main building and big stocks of timber in an adjoining yard were saved. / The firemen who suffered injury were P. Gavin and D. Randall, who received cuts from falling glass. The fire was discovered by a constable. Its origin was in a boiler house at the rear of the factory, where a hopper of dry shavings ignited. Over 1,000,000 feet of timber are stored immediately behind the scene of the fire.
