FOOTWEAR MANUFACTURERS
The following officers were elected at the annual conference yesterday of the New Zealand Footwear Manufacturers' Association: President, Mr. D. V. Wilson (Christchurch); vicepresident, Mr. E. Bridgens (Auckland); executive, Messrs. V. H. Dearsly (Auckland), P. Edwards (Wellington), J. A. East (Christchurch), J. R. Luff (Dunedin); executive of Shoe Research Association, Messrs. W. Denby (Wellington), 'P. Edwards (Wellington), S. Livingstone (Wellington) and M. R. O'Shea (Wellington).
A discussion on the report of the Shoe Research Association was held, which was attended by Dr. E, Marsden and Mr. P. White, of-the Department of Scientific and Industrial Re« search. . A plan of research work for the coming year was drawn up.
Appreciation was expressed of th« services of Mr. H. B. Duckworth (Christchurch), who has. been assocla* ted with the Dominion administra* tion of the industry for many yeara.
