(By Telesrraph—Press Association.)

AUCKLAND, February 16.

The discovery of an alleged stowaway when the ship was nearing Tiritiri on her voyage out of the Hauraki Gulf from Auckland to London, resulted in the Shaw, Savill, and Albion cargo steamer Maimoa putting about and returning to Rangitoto Reef, where the man was taken from the vessel by the police.

The man was found asleep on a bunk in the firemen's quarters.
