TO VISIT FACTORIES

PRIME MINISTER'S MISSION

Starting on Thursday next., the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage) intends to visit selected factories in Wellington, in company with the Minister of Industries and Commerce (the Hon. D. G. Sulliyan). That day and the following day will be spent in this manner, as will also Monday of the next week.

"I want to see what is happening in the way of manufacturing in New Zealand," said Mr. Savage today, "and what progress is being made in extending it. And I want to give whatever assurance may be necessary to those engaged in industry, employees as well as employers, that the Government is in deadly earnest, and is behind them in every effort they make to extend production in New Zealand."
