GREYMOUTH, Ths Day,

In the Magistrate's Court today, Alfred Coumbe, manager of the Mawhera Meat Co., was fined £2 for selling mince containing excessive sulphur dioxide. Robert Edward Groom was also fined £2 on a similar charge.

A representative of the Health Department said that excessive preservative was considered detrimental to public health. The cases were the first of their kind in the district, and were brought as a warning.
